BESA allows for the definition of multiple conditions, epoch lengths, triggers and filters in a paradigm script file. Load a pre-defined paradigm file prior to averaging each data set, run the artifact scanning tool and decide rapidly from the 2D display which sweeps and channels should trigger off artifact rejection.
The number of accepted/rejected sweeps is displayed immediately for each condition when you change thresholds or exclude the bad channels by graphical cursors to base the decision on good channels only.
With this unique tool, you do not need to repeat averaging with different thresholds. You start averaging only once and quickly get a multiple segment binary file with all the epochs of the different averaged conditions concatenated. All channels including those assigned as bad will be averaged. Therefore, bad channels can be inspected and reactivated in the averaged file, if not too noisy, by a simple right click onto the channel label.
